Kenneth Oguzie is an International Trade Specialist, and Diversity and Inclusion Consultant, residing in Nova Scotia since 2014. Born in Nigeria, Ken considers himself a global citizen having lived in Asia, Europe, Africa and presently North America. A Masters graduate of Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics, he is presently the CEO of Africa Canada Trade and Investment Venture (ACTIV), an organization which promotes international Trade and business between Canada and Africa, both within private sector as well as creating public sector collaborations. He is also the founder of ACTIV Research Strategy and Training Group, which focuses on business strategy development and corporate Diversity and Inclusion training as well as board Governance.
Ken is a prominent member of the Nigerian community and a recent recipient of the distinguished Nigerian in Nova Scotia award for his contribution to the Nigerian, as well as the West African community in Nova Scotia. Ken has supported numerous immigrants from across the world in settling in Canada as well as fostering Canada-Africa Trade and Cultural partnership. He has appeared on various media globally as guest speaker on topics ranging from International Trade and Investment, business strategy, to Diversity and Inclusion.
Ken sits on various boards globally such as the Development of Ocean Technical Capacity with African Nations (DOTCAN)- a Canada-West Africa initiative, accessing skilled force committee of the Halifax chambers of commerce, Diversity and Inclusion Standing Advisory Committee of the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists, Welcome to Canada Halifax Immigration Museum (Pier21) ambassador etc.
Ken is a strong advocate of girl-child empowerment in Africa ,and presently supports various not for profit organizations in West Africa working on related projects.
As the CEO of an international business organization focused on trade, investment, project financing, and business facilitation between Canada and Africa, I believe having a global perspective in making business decisions is imperative for organizational sustainable growth and expansion.
